Asustek Computer Inc., A Taiwanese based manufacturer has now entered the tablet pc market. For more 20 years Asus has been known for high quality products for consumers and It professionals. Founded by four employees of the company Acer, Asus needed to land a major coup in order to become a major player. Despite having a prominent market share in the motherboard market in combination with the subsidiary ASRock, which was only enlarged by the joint venture created with Gigabyte, it was not until the first Eee PC was released in late 2007 that Asus became a dominant entity within the IT industry.
